The 'Milos' in Ermioni

It has been officially announced that the Milos (Windmill) on Krothi Hill, which overlooks the whole of Ermioni, will reopen in the near future as a 'refreshment room'.  The announcement was made by the new Mayor of Ermionida, Ioannis Georgopoulos, from the regional office in Kranidi.  The last Mayor of Ermioni, Anargyros Lembesis, said "The dice was thrown, the Milos will reopen and we will drink our coffee up there, in this jewel, and we'll enjoy the beauties of our Ermioni.  The pleasant thing is that the new tenant of the Milos is from Ermioni, Anastasios (Tasos) Kikinas".  Tasos is the co-director of the GeoLand real estate, construction and renovation company, with its main office based in Ermioni and a new office recently opened in Porto Heli.  Lembesis said, "Tasos, go full speed, I wish you good luck!"

The Milos was originally established by the Municipitality of Ermioni during the control of Mayor Anargyros Lembesis, it has become a listed building and famous local landmark.  However, following the Milos' cafe-bar closure a couple of years ago, some people thought it might be used as an exhibition centre, some even wanted it to be demolished following some vandalism.  The new plans for the Milos will be to restore and renovate the building and surrounding area, then open for business as a cafe-bar offering snacks and salads.

At least the Milos will now be saved to be enjoyed by Ermioni residents and visitors alike as the views from the Milos are the best in Ermioni, especially in the morning and after sunset.
